GeekTool for MAC

Here it comes GeekTool. What it is? It's a nice tool to customize your mac desktop. You can show some informations of your system, also you can show pictures from your disk and also content of some files.

You can see my picture as example of my favorite setting.

How I did it?
Left upper corner is a shell skript:

scutil --get ComputerName;
sw_vers | awk -F':\t' '{print $2}' | paste -d ' ' - - -;
sysctl -n hw.memsize | awk '{print $0/1073741824" GB RAM"}';
sysctl -n machdep.cpu.brand_string;
df -hl | grep 'disk0s2' | awk '{print $4"/"$2" free ("$5" used)"}';

Skrip that shows us uptime, disk usage and IP should be like:
uptime | awk '{print "UPTIME : " $3 " " $4 " " $5 " " }';

iostat -d;
ifconfig en1 | grep -e "inet " | awk '{ print "\n IP: " $2 }';

You can also parse TOP informations:
top -l 1 | awk '/PhysMem/ {print "MEM : " $8 " "}' ;

top -l 1 | awk '/CPU usage/ {print "CPU: " $3 " "}'

On the right top corner I put a date with a time with fancy fonts :)
For date I use:
date +"%a. %d. %B"

and for a time:
date +"%l:%M %p";
